AT This Time Last Year!

The year ended up being the best ever on the record! The final sales numbers far exceeded even my most optimistic projections! So How does this optimist see 2008? I must admit, there are a few problematic issues for me to consider.

For example, David Miller(in his desperate search for tax dollars) force fed us with ill-conceived instant market killer-the double tax on property purchases! Without going into a long lecture about why I think this tax is certainly not going to help the market.

As well, the Us money markets are taking a serious beating. Word is that some prominent Canadian Banks may have been involved in "questionable" lending practices. As a result, losses in the banking sector are envitable.

Finally, Many economic "Sectors" seem to be sluggish. Generally, this can be a sign of a coming negative trend in the Real Estate market.

With furrow brow, I have considered these factors. Once again, there are many signs suggesting that 2008 is finally going to be year we see a downturn, But also once again, I feel these signs represent only a small part of a big picture. And I mean the REALLY BIG picture.

We are in a new economy. We've been in it for 10 years and in Canada is nearly self-sufficient. The market plunge of 1989 will NOT happen again. I believe we can move ahead without fear. The truth is I'm a little surprised by all the negativity. All is good! Buy with Confidence!
