Biography of Paul J. Anderson, LL.B.
Mr. Anderson was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and is the principal of the law firm Messrs. Anderson, Bourdon, Burgess. The law firm was established in 1958, and in addition to Notary and Trustee/Escrow Agent services, the practice is divided into three main areas including Business Law, Estate Administration and Tax Planning and Real Estate Transactions. Mr. Anderson has been involved in the legal profession since 1982, with extensive retainers dealing with domestic and international issues in private practice, as well as service in the public sector in the law department of a major international insurance company.
Mr. Anderson was awarded a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, Ontario, and the degree of Barrister-at-Law upon his call to the Ontario Bar. He further graduated with a joint Diploma in International and Comparative Laws from King’s College, University of London, London, England, and the University of San Diego, California, USA and graduated with High Honours with a diploma in legal Administration from Seneca College, Toronto, Ontario.
Mr. Anderson is an Officer of the Supreme Court of Canada, the Superior Court of Justice (Appellate Division) for the province of Ontario, and he is a Notary Public. He is an active member with the Law Society of Upper Canada, the International Bar Association, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (United Kingdom and Canada).
He is President and General Counsel for the Canadian Racing Drivers Association, past General Counsel for the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame and past Treasurer for the Canadian Automobile Sports Clubs Inc. He is the founder of “Ride for a Child”, a children’s charity event for abused children. He is a keen hobbyist and he holds a black belt in Judo, professional race driver’s license, is a certified rescue scuba diver and enjoys a good game of polo, squash and golf or a day on the ski slopes. He is an admirer of good food and rum, particularly when consumed on a boat or on far flung beaches in exotic locales.
