About the Owner:

Becky Misener started out her career in Pet Grooming, by volunteering at “The Grooming Shop” located at the Vancouver S.P.C.A. in B.C.

After deciding this was the career path she wanted to take, she attended Animal Haven School of Grooming, in Surrey, B.C. Becky was taught by an internationally known groomer all aspects of grooming including: hand stripping & carding and hand scissoring to breed standards. Becky is a Certified Master Groomer through the International Professional Grooming Association (IPG) .

In an unregulated industry, Becky felt it was important to undergo the voluntary testing, both written and practical, to prove to the community, she takes her career seriously. Becky also furthers her education by regularly attending grooming seminars to keep up with current grooming trends and styles.

About the Name:

While attending grooming school, Becky received her first Chinese Crested named Finesse (aka Finny). Unfortunately Finesse passed away in 2004 while awaiting surgery. Therefore the shop is named in her memory, a dog who taught Becky so much about handling and understanding small breed dogs. Finny is sadly missed but not forgotten.

Appointments:

At Grooming with Finesse we strive to meet your scheduling needs, offering appointments Tuesday thru Saturday. Most pets are available for pick up in about 3 hours. To keep stress levels at a minimum, all day stays are not encouraged, but are accepted for well behaved pets.

Should you stay?:

Most often when the owners stay for the duration of the grooming process, it is more distracting to the pet which results in a longer and more stressful process. For this reason it is not recommended that pet owners stay.
